vroom vroom
the morning sky yesterday in LA was insane. it looked like grapefruit had been smeared through light blue paint and I was up early enough that the palm trees were just silhouettes. I will miss LA, it’s been a good run here.
but the road calls, no wait, the road is howling and I’m jittery to get back on it. this morning I went to a car wash, popped the hood open, climbed up on the bumper in my cowboy boots and blasted the south dakota mud off of the engine (yes, that was too long to wait to do that. I didn’t realize I had to do it until the charming @benpunkbrit pointed out that I should. sorry Black Wolf). I was all black leather studded jacket, hair flying all over the place… the guy waiting in his grey Ford Taurus just stared, mouth gaping. I sang a “good morning” to him. he smiled. I had a good laugh about that.
jiffy lube changed my oil, filled my tires and pointed out that I’ve been driving around with three lights out (left brake, left turn signal, right reverse). I felt sheepish and ghetto. Juan, the mechanic, was gracious. 60 bucks later all was tuned and fixed and I was on my way.
I can’t wait to be in the desert under jumbled stars.
